Player's Guide - NPC Guilds

NPCs representing the four guilds can be found in various locations throughout The North (e.g., major temples, wizard towers, dark alleys), and you can obtain more information about a guild by talking to them.

Four NPC-run guilds operate in The North:

  • Arcane Practitioners
  • Divine Worshippers
  • Rogues
  • Warriors

Membership

Membership in these guilds is class-specific: you must possess at least one level in a prerequisite class to be accepted into a particular guild.

Joining a guild involves the payment of a fee and performing a task. You may only be a member of one guild at a time.

Upon successfully joining a guild, you are awarded a guild ring that signifies membership to the appropriate guild. In order to be recognized as a member, the guild ring must be carried (though not necessarily worn) at all times. Failure to present a guild ring to a NPC guild representative will result in services being withheld.

Guild membership does provide several general benefits as listed below:


Guild Access to: Guild Perk
Arcane clothing, wands, potions, and scrolls 10% training discount
Divine blunt arms, armor, potions, and scrolls 10% training discount
Rogues light arms, light armor, and traps 10% training discount, free gate entry at night
Warriors arms, armor 10% training discount


An additional benefit of guild membership is discounted training. Guild members receive up to a 10% discount from the regular cost of training. Simply ask a member of the guild to train you and they will do so at the cheaper cost if you are a member.


Guild Quests

Guilds also provide specific quests for members. These quests are specific to each guild and provide a variety of activities to complete (e.g., kill a creature, find an item, perform a pilgrimage).

For “kill a creature” type quests, the character charged with the quest must land the killing blow on the creature to receive credit for the quest.

Guild Quests are persistent, and completion of quests will raise your standing (rank) within the Guild.

NPC Guild representatives can provide members with advice on where to adventure. They will take into account your class and level, and suggest a possible area that might be well suited to your current skill level.
